Senior Animation Programmer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Animation Programmer to design, implement, and optimise animation systems in Unreal Engine. You will work closely with animators, designers, and gameplay programmers to deliver responsive, high‑fidelity character movement and combat interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain animation systems using Unreal Engine's Animation Blueprint, Control Rig and Animation Framework.
• Develop character locomotion, state machines, blend spaces, IK solvers and procedural animation pipelines.
• Collaborate with animators and technical artists to create robust, artist‑friendly tools and rigs.
• Integrate animation‑driven systems with combat, traversal and physics, and optimise performance across consoles and PC.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level programmers and contribute to technical design documents and engine architecture decisions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional game programming experience with a strong focus on animation systems.
• Proven shipped experience with Unreal Engine (UE4/UE5) including Animation Blueprints and Control Rig.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and solid understanding of Blueprint scripting for tools.
• Deep knowledge of animation fundamentals such as blending, layering, IK, root motion and state machines.
• Excellent debugging, profiling and problem‑solving skills.
