Director - Finance Systems

About the role

Megaport, a global Network as a Service provider headquartered in Brisbane, is looking for a Director of Finance Systems. The role leads the strategy, delivery and ongoing operation of the organisation's financial systems landscape, centred on Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, owns the finance systems roadmap, leads a team of systems professionals and manages the supporting vendor and partner ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the Finance Systems team, define its structure and roles, run recruitment, performance reviews and succession planning, and balance capacity across support, enhancements and projects.
• Manage blended teams of internal staff, contractors and offshore or partner resources, ensuring consistent standards and knowledge transfer.
• Contribute to the finance systems strategy and roadmap, monitor the finance systems budget, and establish governance for change management, releases, access control and documentation.
• Oversee the management, configuration and customisation of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, system audits, integrations with finance, HR, data and reporting platforms, and project delivery from initiation to completion.
• Act as senior point of contact for third-party vendors, evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts and monitor emerging technologies.
• Identify process improvements, embed best practices, and ensure user training and support programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or a related field; CPA or CA preferred.
• Extensive experience in financial systems management, with significant depth in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or a comparable ERP.
• Demonstrated people leadership (typically 5+ years), including managing technical or systems teams, recruitment and performance management.
• Experience building blended internal, contractor and partner teams, delivering complex systems projects, and managing vendor contracts and licensing.
• Experience developing systems strategy and roadmaps.

Required skills

• Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or a comparable enterprise ERP.
• Vendor management, contract negotiation and commercial management of licensing and services.
• Project management certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2, or Microsoft Dynamics certifications, are advantageous.
