Senior Analytics Insights Engineer – Power BI

A recruiter is seeking a Senior Analytics Insights Engineer to join a client's team and help turn data into better business decisions. The role sits at the intersection of data, strategy and operations, building solutions that create real value and partnering with stakeholders to deliver measurable insights. It suits an experienced data professional with strong insights delivery experience in Power BI, comfortable modelling data and working with modern data platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Build clear, insightful dashboards and reports that shape how the business understands performance.
• Develop data models that make complex information simple and actionable.
• Design and develop the silver and gold data layers for reporting.
• Use Microsoft Fabric tools (lakehouses, warehouses, pipelines) and Power BI to deliver faster analytics solutions.
• Turn raw data into stories and recommendations that support key decisions.
• Work with leaders across business units to identify challenges and opportunities and embed analytics in everyday decision-making.
• Champion data-driven approaches and use analytics to improve processes and support strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• 5 years of experience in insights/analytics, with a track record in dynamic or complex organisations.
• Degree in commerce, IT, mathematics or engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work across multiple business areas and translate technical detail into clear business insights.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency required.

Required skills

• Strong SQL and comfort with large datasets and models.
• Proven Power BI experience delivering business-ready dashboards.
• Microsoft Fabric or similar data platforms, plus exposure to Azure or AWS.
• Python exposure is highly regarded.
