Senior Analyst, Regulatory Reporting

About the role

CommBank is recruiting a Senior Analyst for its Group Statutory & Regulatory Reporting team within Group Finance, based in the Sydney CBD area. The team delivers regulatory reporting obligations to APRA, the RBA and other regulators, and supports engagement with them and analysis of financial movements across the balance sheet and profit and loss. The role suits a finance professional who enjoys analysing financial information, solving complex problems and working accurately in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly regulatory reporting to APRA and other regulatory bodies.
• Analyse balance sheet, profit and loss, interest rate and transfer pricing movements across products, sectors and customer segments.
• Investigate material movements and provide analysis that supports reporting outcomes.
• Respond to information requests and reporting enquiries from APRA, the RBA and other agencies.
• Support implementation of regulatory, system and product changes affecting reporting requirements.
• Maintain documentation, reporting procedures and governance standards.
• Build relationships with Finance, Risk, Product and external audit partners.

Required profile

• CA, CPA or ACCA qualification, or working towards completion.
• Experience in financial reporting, statutory reporting, management reporting, regulatory reporting or external audit; banking, financial services, audit or financial reporting experience is highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, journals, debits and credits and financial statements.
• Ability to interpret and analyse profit and loss and balance sheet movements.
• Exposure to banking or financial services products and environments.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
