Senior Analyst, Customer Insights & Commercial Performance

About the role

APA, Australia's energy infrastructure partner, is hiring a Senior Analyst, Customer Insights & Commercial Performance for its Gas Commercial team on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Commercial Governance Manager, the analyst supports customer retention, revenue growth and commercial decision-making across customer-facing businesses, using customer, contract, financial and market data to build insights, tools and dashboards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, data models and self-service reporting tools that support commercial decision-making.
• Analyse customer, contract and financial performance data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and value-enhancing initiatives.
• Source, interpret and connect information from internal and external datasets, industry intelligence, market research and news sources.
• Monitor customer financial performance and credit-related metrics to support risk monitoring and commercial discussions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and revenue performance tracking through analysis and reporting.
• Translate complex data and analysis into practical insights and recommendations for a wide range of stakeholders.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience developing Power BI dashboards and working with complex datasets, including data modelling and reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, able to work through ambiguity.
• Experience combining information from multiple sources to generate insights and support business decisions.
• Exposure to commercial, financial, customer, market or performance analysis in a complex business environment.
• Naturally curious and proactive, with a track record of independently investigating issues and improving ways of working.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, able to explain complex analysis to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Eligible to work in Australia; candidates are subject to background vetting (including police checks).
