Senior Advisor – Business & Tax Advisory (Asian Business Practice)

About the role

KPMG is seeking a Senior Advisor to join its Business & Tax Advisory team within the Asian Business Practice. The role supports China‑connected clients—including private businesses, family groups and foreign‑invested enterprises—by delivering high‑quality tax and business advisory services across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of tax and business advisory services for China‑connected clients.
• Assist in preparing tax returns, financial statements, tax provisions and other compliance obligations.
• Conduct technical research and prepare advice on Australian tax and cross‑border business matters.
• Collaborate with managers and senior team members to ensure high‑quality client outcomes.
• Handle client communications, respond to queries promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate engagement activities, monitor deadlines and maintain project documentation.
• Work with specialists across KPMG Australia, China and the global network on client engagements.
• Contribute to proposals, presentations and other business development materials.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of tax legislation and regulatory developments relevant to China‑connected businesses.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing within the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in tax advisory, business services, business advisory or professional services.
• Sound understanding of Australian tax and compliance requirements.
• Experience working with China‑connected clients or in cross‑border business environments is highly regarded.
• Business‑level Mandarin (spoken and/or written) is highly regarded.
• Collaborative approach with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
