Senior Adviser – AML/CTF Compliance (12‑Month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

MinterEllison is seeking a Senior Adviser to join its AML Compliance Team within the General Counsel and Risk Office. This 12‑month fixed‑term position will support the firm’s Anti‑Money Laundering and Counter‑Terrorist Financing (AML/CTF) compliance program and help embed a robust, continuously improving compliance framework.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day AML/CTF compliance activities, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and industry best practice.
• Enhance policies, systems and procedures for client and matter intake to meet AML/CTF obligations.
• Deliver firm‑wide training and guidance on client due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (ECDD) processes.
• Provide commercially aware advice to partners and stakeholders on complex AML/CTF risk and regulatory issues.
• Prioritise and oversee AML/CTF and business intake tasks, monitoring workloads and ensuring timely resolution of high‑risk matters.

Required profile

• Significant experience in AML/CTF compliance within a professional services or legal environment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian AML/CTF legislation and regulatory expectations.
• Ability to communicate complex regulatory concepts clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement of compliance frameworks.
