Senior Account Executive, Mid Market

About the role

Airwallex is seeking a Senior Account Executive to drive new business across its Acquiring, Card, FX and Payment API suite. You will focus on mid‑market e‑commerce retailers, marketplaces, online travel agents and other high‑potential verticals throughout Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, hunt and convert new business opportunities across Australia, leveraging your network and industry expertise.
• Own the full sales cycle end‑to‑end, from prospecting through to closing mid‑market accounts.
• Lead complex commercial negotiations in partnership with Legal, Finance and Strategy.
• Build and maintain a high‑quality pipeline while shaping sales best practices for the Australian business.
• Act as second‑in‑command to the Sales Manager, providing leadership support and driving team performance.
• Mentor and coach Sales Development Representatives and junior team members.

Required profile

• Proven success in tech sales with a track record of exceeding quotas.
• Ability to operate as a senior individual contributor and influence team outcomes.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation experience in complex sales cycles.
• Highly proactive, independent mindset with strong ownership and accountability.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of payments, FX and API‑based financial solutions.
• Experience selling to mid‑market e‑commerce and travel verticals.
