Security Operations Engineer

About the role

Join Brennan's Cyber Security team as a Security Operations Engineer (L2) based in Brisbane or Adelaide. You will split your time between handling complex security incidents and engineering security platform improvements for sovereign and government-focused customers.

Key responsibilities

• Act as an escalation point for Security Analysts, investigating and resolving complex incidents and platform issues.
• Configure, administer and optimise SIEM, SOAR, endpoint, email, identity and vulnerability management platforms.
• Onboard customers onto managed security services, including log collection, agent deployment and platform configuration.
• Build and maintain security automations, integrations and operational processes.
• Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs and technical documentation.
• Support platform upgrades, tuning, testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in the SOC secondary on‑call roster.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship with eligibility for NV1 Security Clearance.
• 2‑3+ years experience in a SOC, cyber security engineering or related role.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and root‑cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proactive learning attitude and ability to work in a fast‑paced team.
