Security Lead

About the role

Leidos Australia's Mission Software Systems (MSS) team is looking for a Security Lead in Melbourne. You will provide security leadership across the design, delivery and operation of complex systems, integrating security into engineering decisions, coordinating assurance activities and helping teams manage security risk throughout the system lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain security plans, risk assessments, control requirements and assurance evidence.
• Advise architects, engineers and project leaders on secure design, implementation and operational practices.
• Coordinate vulnerability, compliance and security review activities, ensuring findings are prioritised and addressed.
• Communicate security posture, risks and remediation progress to customers, technical authorities and governance forums.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship; security clearance requirements vary by role and project and may include NV2 or TSPV clearances, and applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain them.
• Experience leading or coordinating cyber security activities in technology or engineering environments.
• Experience reviewing architectures, system designs or technical implementations from a security perspective.
• Experience working across project, engineering and operational teams.
• Advantageous: knowledge of cloud, network, application or operational technology security, and exposure to government, defence, critical infrastructure or other regulated environments.

Required skills

• Knowledge of security risk management, governance, controls and assurance practices.
• Vulnerability management, remediation planning and security issue resolution.
• Familiarity with accrediting systems against the ISM and other applicable security standards.
• Ability to prepare security documentation and communicate risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
