Security Engineer – Incident Response (SIRT)

About the role

Amazon is seeking a Security Engineer to join its high‑energy Security Incident Response Team (SIRT) in Sydney. You will work hands‑on with detection and vulnerability analysis tools to investigate and mitigate security events that target Amazon’s e‑commerce platform.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to security incidents and coordinate a cohesive response across multiple Amazon teams.
• Provide engineering solutions during customer‑facing incidents and help prevent future occurrences.
• Develop pragmatic solutions that balance business requirements with acceptable risk.
• Identify and recommend improvements to Amazon’s incident response capabilities.
• Stay current on security trends, advisories, and publications, and drive appropriate responses.
• Participate in a follow‑the‑sun on‑call rotation.

• Strong technical expertise in security incident analysis and root‑cause investigation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other Security Engineers to reduce risk.
