Core Java Developer – Trading Platform (Sydney)

About the role

As a Core Java Developer reporting to the Senior Director of Software Engineering, you will design, develop and maintain software that powers Nasdaq’s Eqlipse trading platform for clients across the APAC region. The role is based in Sydney and works closely with teams in Sydney, other global Nasdaq locations and external customers, requiring collaboration across time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement Java‑based solutions for the Eqlipse trading platform.
• Support existing APAC clients, ensuring reliability, performance and quality standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues in Sydney and Nasdaq’s global teams to align objectives and deliverables.
• Maintain and improve code quality, structure and engineering standards.
• Participate in cross‑timezone coordination and occasional flexible working hours.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• Business‑level English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment and collaborate across global time zones.
