Sector Manager, Transmission & Distribution (NSW)

About the role

Technical Director‑level leadership opportunity as Sector Manager for AECOM’s Transmission & Distribution team in Sydney. You will lead a group of 35+ engineers, designers and delivery managers, shaping strategy, culture and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership, guidance and direction to a multidisciplinary T&D team.
• Oversee the future work pipeline, client relationships, people development, delivery KPIs and commercial outcomes.
• Collaborate with ANZ and global T&D leadership to drive integrated solutions.
• Lead change processes and ways‑of‑working improvements across the market.

Required profile

• Proven people‑leadership experience in engineering or technical environments.
• Ability to mentor, develop and retain high‑performing talent.
• Strong commercial judgement, client focus and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience managing remote teams and building trusted client relationships.

Required skills

• Technical expertise in transmission and distribution design, verification or project delivery.
• Client relationship management capabilities within the Australian T&D sector.
