Sea Logistics Export Operational Care Supervisor

About the role

As a Sea Logistics Export Operational Care Supervisor at Kuehne+Nagel, you will lead a team that ensures smooth, reliable ocean shipments for a wide range of products, from medicines to machinery. You will balance cost efficiency with high‑quality service, using data‑driven decisions to exceed customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Operational Care team in improving workflows, reducing waste and driving efficiency.
• Facilitate training, skill updates and performance management for team members.
• Define, monitor and report on SLAs and KPIs, providing accurate customer information.
• Manage supplier contracts, resolve disputes with Customs, MPI and MedSafe, and support complex shipments.
• Analyse KPI dashboards, increase automation via eTouch and ensure billing accuracy with a target of 95% invoice quality.
• Confirm expected gross profit within 24 hours, minimise deferrals and ensure correct cost posting.

Required profile

• Proven leadership of small teams with strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Resilience, accountability and a proactive mindset for continuous improvement.
• Fluent in the local language, advanced English proficiency, valid Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel domestically.

Required skills

• Freight forwarding and supply chain expertise.
• Strong knowledge of Kuehne+Nagel services and systems (including eTouch).
• Project management experience.
• Commercial acumen with exposure to P&L responsibilities.
• KPI analysis and dashboard reporting.
