Last Mile Transport Team Manager - Alexandria Home Delivery Hub

About the role

Coles Group is recruiting a Last Mile Transport Team Manager for its Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC) at the Alexandria home delivery hub. The manager leads and manages the operational success of CFC last mile operations, coordinating a substantial customer delivery team to meet Coles' ecommerce KPIs for safety, customer experience, cost, fulfilment and delivery. The role involves overseeing process compliance, working with internal departments, state transport management and 3PL providers, and requires a flexible roster including weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and drive a customer-focused culture across CFC customer delivery operations
• Manage the transport and customer delivery team within CFC operations
• Collaborate with other Coles business units so that CFC operations support online sales growth
• Execute the strategy implementation plan to achieve ecommerce and operations objectives
• Contribute to the definition of organisational strategies and plans for the Customer Fulfilment Centre and spoke operations
• Champion safety and lead a safety-first culture
• Communicate performance objectives, empower direct reports and support team member development
• Influence key stakeholders across central operations and transformation teams to align on change strategy
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and share insights with stakeholders

Required profile

• Passionate Customer Delivery Driver Team Manager with a customer-first focus
• Strong people leadership, with a passion for engaging teams and developing team members
• Experience driving a culture of customer focus, continuous improvement and organisational change
• Ability to influence and communicate with senior leaders
• Ability to work within complex industrial relations frameworks
• Advantageous: experience in vehicle compliance and safety frameworks including fatigue management and CORT; tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline; management experience in last mile and transport/logistics cross-dock operations with accountability for safety, financial and operational performance
