School Technical Officer (ICT Support)

About the role

The School Technical Officer will support and maintain the ICT environment at Wilsonton State School, ensuring reliable, safe and effective access to technology for staff and students. This position plays a key part in delivering high‑quality digital learning across the Prep to Year 6 community.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice and assistance to maximise ICT operations.
• Support acquisition, installation, operation, maintenance, repair and replacement of hardware and software.
• Deliver technical support and troubleshooting for staff and students.
• Maintain accountable records and ICT asset inventories.
• Support networking, connectivity and basic server infrastructure.
• Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Assist with staff training on ICT tools.
• Communicate with regional and central support teams on technical matters.
• Develop and oversee procedures and guidelines for safe and effective use of technology.

Required profile

• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing computers and related ICT equipment.
• Strong practical knowledge of desktop and laptop systems, printers, peripherals and mobile devices such as iPads.
• Understanding of LAN, WAN and basic server infrastructure.
• Ability to provide clear technical support and communicate solutions to non‑technical users.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on minimising downtime.
