SAP Data Migration Lead / Consultant

About the role

Capgemini is hiring an SAP Data Migration Lead / Consultant in Melbourne. The role leads end-to-end data migration and integration activities into SAP systems, covering extraction, cleansing, mapping, transformation and loading of legacy data, and works closely with business and IT teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and validate data mapping rules between legacy systems and SAP target structures.
• Coordinate with business and IT teams, monitor data quality and resolve data discrepancies.
• Work with SAP tools such as LSMW, SAP Migration Cockpit (LTMC/LTMOM), SAP Data Services and SAP MDG workflows.
• Manage defect resolution, mock conversions and cutover readiness for SAP deployments.
• Support the business team with data assessment and readiness of the current data ecosystem.
• Apply and enforce SAP global data standards, naming conventions and governance policies, and maintain SAP MDG governance models, workflows, validation rules and derivations.
• Run SAP data quality checks and monitor master data KPIs such as completeness, duplicates, attribute compliance and change cycle times.

Required profile

• Years of hands-on experience in ETL development, data extraction, transformation, cleansing and loading for large-scale SAP programs.
• Strong field-level mapping capability between legacy systems and SAP (ECC / S/4HANA).
• Demonstrated experience designing end-to-end migration jobs with business analysts, solution architects, offshore teams and functional SMEs.
• Experience in a global delivery model with offshore teams.
• SAP certifications in BODS or BusinessObjects preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SQL, including complex multi-table joins, subqueries, inner/outer joins, data parsing, formatting and performance tuning.
• Excellent stakeholder communication, client-facing presentation and documentation skills.
• Analytical, data-driven decision-making and a strong consulting mindset.
