Sales Manager

About the role

The Sales Manager will lead COS's Cairns and Townsville sales teams, manage a portfolio of local customers, develop new business opportunities and support regional performance. Reporting to the Head of Sales of Schools and Regional Cities, this hands‑on role is based in Cairns.

Key responsibilities

• Create and execute strategic plans for new business growth, testing initiatives and innovation.
• Identify, manage and develop multi‑level client relationships to grow existing accounts.
• Maintain accurate customer activity and pipeline records in HubSpot or a similar CRM.
• Report regularly on portfolio health, opportunities and risks to Sales Leadership.
• Support tender submissions, pricing reviews and contract compliance for government accounts.
• Represent COS in the region, ensuring strong customer relationships and community presence.

Required profile

• Experience building long‑term relationships with customers and senior stakeholders.
• Proven ability to develop new business and grow existing accounts.
• Confident in coaching and developing individuals to achieve performance targets.
• Effective time, territory and priority management across a geographically diverse region.
• Collaborative, proactive approach with focus on continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Proficiency in HubSpot or similar CRM.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
