Sales Director - National Sales Leadership

About the role

Pacific Talent Partners has been retained to appoint a Sales Director for a market-leading manufacturer and distributor of essential infrastructure solutions, recognised in the electrical, residential construction and building products sectors. The Sales Director sits on the Executive Leadership Team and holds full strategic and operational accountability for the national sales organisation, acting as the primary commercial driver of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the national sales and commercial strategy aligned with business and Group objectives
• Lead national sales performance, set annual budgets, forecasts and growth plans, and drive revenue, margin and customer retention
• Build executive-level relationships with major customers, wholesalers, distributors and strategic partners
• Lead pricing strategies and major commercial negotiations, including contracts, trading agreements and rebates
• Lead, coach and develop the national sales team, including talent development, succession planning and performance management
• Partner with Finance, Marketing, Product Management and the Executive Leadership Team on margins, go-to-market strategy and customer solutions
• Maintain pipeline governance, report performance analysis to the Executive Leadership Team and identify emerging customer needs

Required profile

• Significant sales leadership and commercial management experience with a track record of profitable growth and team building
• Experience managing key customers and strategic channel partnerships; background in electrical, residential construction or building products highly desirable
• Strong sales strategy, forecasting, pipeline management and business planning capability
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills
• Unrestricted Australian working rights
