Sales Bookkeeper - Revenue & Reconciliation Specialist

About the role

An established Melbourne-based SME is seeking a hands-on Sales Bookkeeper to manage its daily sales income function. This is not a graduate accountant role nor a finance manager stepping stone; it suits someone who enjoys structured, process-driven bookkeeping and takes pride in clean, accurate revenue records. The role covers daily bank reconciliations, invoicing, receipting, refund processing and keeping financial records compliant and audit-ready.

Key responsibilities

• Own the daily sales income workflow from invoice through to bank reconciliation
• Raise and issue customer invoices in Xero
• Allocate receipts and resolve unmatched payments
• Perform daily bank reconciliation and match transactions
• Process credit notes and customer refunds correctly (GST compliant)
• Enter sales data into MYOB for reporting
• Work with sales and support teams to resolve discrepancies
• Provide support for other in-house accounting and maintain accurate, organised financial records

Required profile

• Cert IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting (or equivalent experience)
• At least 2 years managing accounts receivable and bank reconciliations
• Practical GST experience in Australia
• Experience allocating customer payments and resolving discrepancies
• Hands-on experience managing sales income end-to-end
• Applied accounting knowledge and comfort with both Xero and MYOB
• Clear written and spoken English and Australian work rights
