Safety & Wellbeing Specialist

About the role

Troocoo is recruiting, on behalf of a purpose-led employer, a Safety & Wellbeing Specialist for its People & Strategy function in Brisbane. The role reports to the Manager, Safety & Wellbeing, and provides specialist advice and support across workplace health, safety and wellbeing matters. It is a permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Provide trusted advice on WHS, wellbeing, risk management and safe work practices
• Lead and support the delivery of WHS, health and wellbeing programs and initiatives
• Manage workplace incidents, hazards and psychosocial risk assessments, identifying contributing factors and practical controls
• Support complex matters such as psychological injury, psychosocial risk and recovery-at-work
• Use safety, incident, hazard and wellbeing data to identify trends, emerging risks and improvement opportunities
• Build a proactive safety and wellbeing culture through education, coaching and capability building
• Coordinate governance activities including WHS committees, emergency preparedness and corrective action processes
• Partner with leaders and stakeholders to embed risk management and psychologically healthy workplace practices
• Contribute to improving safety systems, processes and wellbeing practices

Required profile

• Experienced health, safety and wellbeing professional who works across the technical and people sides of the function
• Experience managing complex WHS matters
• Relevant tertiary qualification in WHS, Occupational Health & Safety, Psychology, Human Resources, Health Science or a related field
• Strong knowledge of Queensland WHS legislation, psychosocial risk requirements and contemporary safety and wellbeing frameworks
• Experience implementing or maintaining safety management systems, ideally with exposure to ISO 45001 and/or ISO 45003
• Experience working with psychosocial risks and supporting psychologically healthy workplaces
