Rollingstock Maintainer - Mackay

About the role

One Rail Australia is seeking Rollingstock Maintainers to join its Queensland Maintenance team and support the growing maintenance operation in Queensland, including the Mackay region. The roles are residential and applicants must live in the Mackay region. They are paid by the hour and offer a family-oriented roster.

Key responsibilities

• Examine rollingstock and carry out field maintenance, including derailment recovery
• Servicing and repairs on locomotives and wagons
• Drive and operate field service vehicles and mobile lifting equipment
• Carry out scheduled servicing, unplanned maintenance and modifications to rollingstock
• Maintain and repair fixed plant and workshop equipment
• Maintain and repair ECP brake systems on all rollingstock

Required profile

• Trade-qualified Electrical or Diesel Fitter
• Similar working experience and a high standard of work output
• Ability to work 11-12-hour day and night shifts on a 24.7 roster
• Team player with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety
• Demonstrated experience in rollingstock maintenance and a medium rigid truck licence are desirable
