Plant Operator - Quarries

About the role

Boral Quarries is looking for a Plant Operator to join its team at Cedars Quarry near Mackay. This is a permanent, full-time role operating the mobile and fixed plant that keeps the site producing safely every shift. It suits someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in looking after their equipment and wants to learn the quarry trade properly.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the dump haul truck, front-end loader and other quarry mobile plant safely
• Operate the crushing plant safely
• Carry out basic maintenance and keep the plant and work area in good order
• Take part in problem solving and find better ways to do the job
• Follow safety routines, including pre-starts, toolbox talks and incident reporting

Required profile

• Experience operating mobile plant; a Komatsu 850 excavator or similar is a plus, but training is available
• An HR truck licence is handy, though not essential
• Quarry experience is well regarded, though not essential
• Self-motivated, with safety and quality front of mind
• Works well in a team and needs minimal supervision
• Available to work Monday to Saturday
