Roads Team Member (Casual)

About the role

Narromine Shire Council is seeking suitably qualified and experienced applicants to join its roads team on a casual basis. The positions support road construction and maintenance so that the travelling public has safe road surfaces. Work is offered according to the Council's operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with road construction and maintenance.
• Safely operate Council plant and equipment in line with manufacturers' specifications and Council procedures.
• Represent Council positively in the community and work safely.

Required profile

• Class MR driver's licence.
• General Construction Induction (CIC - White Card) NSW.
• Reliable team member who takes pride in their work.

Desirable skills

• Experience and competency operating a backhoe, front end loader and grader.
• Sound working knowledge of construction techniques and principles.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in a team.
• Traffic Control Combo certification, Chainsaw Certification (Crosscut & Trim), First Aid certificate and HR licence.

What we offer

• Pay from $37.31 per hour, inclusive of casual loading, plus superannuation and applicable allowances.
• The rate corresponds to Grade 4 Entry within Council's salary structure.
• Superannuation paid to your nominated complying fund.
