Retail Pharmacist

About the role

The client is a registered pharmacy outlet chain seeking a full‑time Retail Pharmacist for its Bateau Bay store in New South Wales. You will deliver high‑quality pharmacy services, collaborate with health professionals and ensure safe medication use for the community.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medicines in compliance with the Pharmacy Board of Australia and the National Health Act.
• Provide patient counselling, health information, and primary health‑care services such as home medicine reviews and disease‑management programs.
• Supervise the supply of Pharmacy‑Only Medicines, unscheduled medicines and health products, and oversee Pharmacy Technicians, interns and sales assistants.
• Utilise dispensary assistants for routine tasks and manage stock, including checking expiries, rotating inventory and monitoring storage conditions.
• Document clinical interventions using GuildCare software and prepare PBS and Medicare claims.
• Maintain accurate prescription records, ensure compliance with legislation (Pharmacy Practice Act 2004, OH&S, QCPP) and report any errors or ethical breaches.

Required profile

• Successful completion of a Bachelor of Pharmacy and current general registration with AHPRA.
• At least 12 months experience in a retail pharmacy dispensing role.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment and contribute positively to a team.
• Proven ability to plan, organise and meet targets while maintaining high customer service standards.
• Experience using pharmacy dispensing software and point‑of‑sale (POS) systems for at least one year.
