Retail Assistant Manager

About the role

The St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland, including Vinnies Housing and its retail stores, is looking for a Retail Assistant Manager to support and supervise its Virginia store. This is a hands-on, part-time role (22.5 hours per week) on Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays, open to emerging leaders who want to grow their management skills. It is a permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Support and supervise the Virginia store and assist in managing store operations so that stock moves smoothly.
• Help maintain workplace health and safety standards and make sure store policies and procedures are followed.
• Deliver personalised, engaging customer service and build connections with the local community.
• Support and motivate the team, promote best practice and contribute fresh ideas to improve how work is done.

Required profile

• Previous retail experience, including merchandising, cash handling, workplace health and safety and effective communication.
• An eye for sustainable fashion and repurposing, and a passion for helping companions shop in a welcoming environment.
• A collaborative leadership style and an appreciation for the role of volunteers in retail operations.
• An appropriate visa to work in Australia/New Zealand.

What we offer

• Pay of $30.16 per hour plus superannuation and NFP salary packaging.
