Resident Lifestyle Officer

About the role

Aegis is looking for a passionate, self-driven Resident Lifestyle Officer for its 79-bed facility, Aegis Parkview, in Redcliffe. The role centres on delivering enjoyable lifestyle programs for residents, coordinating activities and supporting the dining services, with hours Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive, meaningful and enjoyable lifestyle programs.
• Coordinate, supervise and take part in the daily delivery of lifestyle and therapy programs under the direction of the Facility Manager and Occupational Therapist.
• Help new residents settle in by promoting lifestyle programs, discussing dining options and food preferences, and assisting with room orientation.
• Uphold the Excellence in Dining principles and act as the dining services liaison so that individualised resident requests are met.
• Manage lifestyle programs such as intergenerational activities, activity bookings and bus trips.
• Organise resident and relative meetings and coordinate volunteers.
• Attend dining services regularly and be available to answer questions from residents and families as required.

Required profile

• Genuine interest in working with older people.
• Proven experience coordinating enjoyable lifestyle programs in aged care; experience in therapy is essential.
• Experience in aged care and hospitality is desirable.
• Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent or higher, or equivalent experience.
• Full Australian working rights and ability to pass a national police clearance.
