Research Fellow - Ultrafast/Strong-Field/Attosecond Science

About the role

Griffith University is seeking a Research Fellow to join a team working on ultrafast, strong-field and attosecond science, which studies electron dynamics and chemical processes on attosecond timescales. The role contributes to the Australian Research Council Discovery Project "Attochemistry - Imaging Valence Electrons in Motion" and sits within the School of Environment and Science. It is a full-time, fixed-term position until 30 September 2029, based at the Nathan campus in Brisbane South.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality research advancing the research program's objectives.
• Publish in leading international peer-reviewed journals and help write competitive research funding applications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on research initiatives aligned with the Centre's priorities.
• Prepare and deliver publications, conference presentations, technical reports and stakeholder communications.
• Contribute to teaching, student learning and curriculum activities as required.
• Supervise and mentor HDR candidates, and guide Research Assistants and technical staff.
• Comply with legislation, ethics, laboratory standards and university policies, and promote a safe, inclusive research culture.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent qualifications or work experience in ultrafast/strong-field/attosecond science or a related field.
• Candidates with prior post-doctoral research experience and hands-on knowledge of intense ultrafast lasers and/or photon and particle detectors are favoured.
