Research Fellow or Fellow – RadInnovate

About the role

The Australian National University (ANU) is recruiting a Research Fellow or Fellow for its School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet). The role is central to the ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre for Radiation Innovation (RadInnovate), which builds nuclear science and radiation capabilities by training the next generation of transdisciplinary leaders. The position is full-time, contingent funded, with a term ending 31 December 2029.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake independent research on RadInnovate's co-designed industry projects, mainly on regulation and social licence, and publish original results in top-tier refereed journals.
• Co-supervise RadInnovate Higher Degree Research (HDR) students and teach into postgraduate programs in regulation and governance.
• Act as the link between HDR students and university and industry partners, and spend time in industry during student placements.
• Take part in all-of-centre activities and the life of the project.

Required profile

• A PhD in law, regulation or a related field, with a focus on regulating nuclear materials and technologies or emerging technologies.
• Ability to work independently on high-quality research alongside RadInnovate Chief Investigators, with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated teaching ability and willingness to develop world-class co-supervision of HDR students.
• Highly developed organisational skills and effective self-management.
