Reliability Manager

About the role

Mars is hiring a Reliability Manager for its Food Nutrition segment in Wyong, New South Wales. The role takes overall ownership of the site's maintenance group, shaping its strategic direction, championing a proactive maintenance culture and steering the maintenance budget. It sits on the Plant Management Team and works closely with Production Managers to drive continuous improvement and minimise equipment downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct leadership and line management to the maintenance team, focusing on skill development, knowledge management and technical training.
• Lead the development, deployment and continuous improvement of the site-wide maintenance strategy to maximise asset lifecycle and plant reliability.
• Own the site maintenance budget and manage the stores inventory budget to ensure optimal parts availability.
• Analyse key performance indicators, including maintenance spend and reliability metrics.
• Oversee and deliver engineering and maintenance projects aimed at improving plant reliability and reducing downtime.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or similar) or a relevant trade qualification with extensive leadership experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent continuous improvement certifications (Lean, Six Sigma) are highly regarded.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or ERP platforms such as SAP.
