About the role

The Department of Health is recruiting a Registrar Cardiology (unaccredited) to join a growing, contemporary Cardiology Service in Tasmania. The Registrar works alongside experienced cardiologists and multidisciplinary colleagues, assessing, treating and managing patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular disease across inpatient, consultative and outpatient services. The position is a full-time, day-worker role on an on-call roster, with 10 hours of paid, protected training time per fortnight.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, treat and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular disease
• Contribute to clinical decision making, education, quality improvement and service development
• Work in a collaborative cardiology team supported by experienced cardiologists

Required profile

• Experience within a cardiology or physician training environment
• Sound clinical judgement and a commitment to safe, evidence-based care
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient care
• Commitment to learning, professional development and clinical excellence
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia

What we offer

• Fixed-term 12-month contract, 76 hours per fortnight, starting as soon as possible
• Medical Practitioner Level 5-11 salary of $138,978-$194,675 per annum pro rata, plus 12% superannuation and salary packaging
• North and North-West Tasmania recruitment and retention allowance of $10,000 per annum
• Continuing professional development allowance of $3,278-$4,371 per annum pro rata
• Leave entitlements including study leave, professional development support and a Fitness Passport
