Allied Health Assistant - Pharmacy Student

About the role

The Department of Health is seeking pharmacy students to work as Allied Health Assistants, supporting the provision of safe and effective pharmacy services. The role is casual and fixed term, working as and when required, starting in January for approximately 12 months, with hours to be negotiated. It is aimed at students enrolled in a Bachelor of Pharmacy.

Key responsibilities

• Work under the direction of a pharmacist or supervisory pharmacy technician
• Participate in activities that support patient care, such as dispensing and inventory services
• Provide safe and effective pharmacy services

Required profile

• Current enrolment in a tertiary pharmacy program (Bachelor of Pharmacy)
• Demonstrated theoretical knowledge of pharmacy services and some understanding of pharmaceutical products used in health care
• Sound reasoning skills and the ability to explain decision making to colleagues, supervisors and patients
• Desirable: Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent, or a commitment to attain it; completion of pharmacy-relevant units; or enrolment in an approved pharmacy program

• Salary of $70,033 to $75,114 per annum pro rata, with 12% superannuation on top
