Registered Nurse – Haemodialysis

About the role

The position is for a Registered Nurse working in a haemodialysis clinical setting. The role involves delivering high‑quality patient care while supporting continuous improvement and professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Participates in the design, planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care within the haemodialysis clinical setting.
• Protects patient rights by adhering to privacy principles and providing excellent care.
• Responsible for own professional development and provides education to colleagues, patients and visitors.
• Ensures a safe, secure and healthy working environment for staff and a comfortable, safe environment for visitors and patients.
• Actively participates in quality improvement by reporting incidents, hazards and improvement opportunities.
• Completes clinical and mandatory competencies annually and performs defined management functions when required.
• Maintains accurate patient information in medical records, including the Therapy Data Management System (TDMS), complying with confidentiality and privacy policies.

Required profile

• Registered as a general nurse with AHPRA and holds a current practising certificate.
• Understanding of quality improvement processes and risk management obligations.
• Demonstrated clinical competence or working towards competence in nephrology nursing.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organisational, decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities, self‑directed.

Required skills

• Nephrology nursing theory and practice.
• Computer literacy.
