About the role
The Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) ward at the Queen Elizabeth Centre seeks a Registered Nurse with strong clinical abilities and a commitment to patient‑centred care. This permanent position works within a 24‑bed specialist unit that provides comprehensive assessment and management for older adults with complex health needs.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting patients, families, and discharge planning.
- Provide specialist assessment and ongoing management for chronic, cognitive, and disability‑related conditions.
- Work a 7‑day roster covering AM, PM, and night shifts as required.
- Uphold best practice standards and contribute to continuous service improvement.
Required profile
- Registered Nurse Grade 2 (YP2‑YP9) classification under the Victorian Public Sector agreement.
- Willingness and ability to work across a flexible roster, including weekends and night shifts.
- Commitment to safety protocols, including PPE use and mandatory police, immunisation, and Working with Children checks.
