About the role
The Department of Critical Care Medicine at the Royal Hobart Hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to deliver intensive and high‑dependency care in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment. You will join a team that supports professional development, research, and quality‑improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Provide direct intensive care and high‑dependency nursing to a diverse patient population, including cardiac, trauma, ECMO, and complex obstetric cases.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, consumer‑focused care.
- Participate in clinical projects, research activities, and continuous quality‑improvement programs.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to NMBA standards and hospital policies.
Required profile
- Current registration with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board (NMBA) and knowledge of relevant standards.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills for effective teamwork.
- Understanding of continuous quality‑improvement processes and evidence‑based practice.
- Flexibility to work shift patterns, including full‑time or part‑time arrangements.
Required skills
- ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) knowledge and experience.
What we offer
- Fixed‑term contracts (up to 12 months) with full‑time or part‑time options.
- Salary range $80,524 – $102,295 per annum (pro‑rata) plus 12% superannuation.
