About the role
We are seeking a Registered Nurse with 2‑3 years post‑registration experience to join the Alcohol and Drug Service Community Team in Tasmania. The role focuses on delivering evidence‑based counselling and therapeutic interventions to individuals affected by alcohol and other drug use, supporting recovery and wellbeing across the community.
Key responsibilities
- Provide individual counselling and therapeutic interventions for clients with alcohol and other drug issues.
- Conduct comprehensive AOD assessments and develop person‑centred care plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders in care planning.
- Participate in health promotion, education and community awareness activities.
- Contribute to quality assurance, service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- 2‑3 years post‑registration nursing experience, preferably in an AOD setting.
- Demonstrated experience delivering counselling and therapeutic interventions for alcohol and other drug use.
- Strong knowledge of evidence‑based AOD treatment, harm‑minimisation principles and complex assessment techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to engage in quality assurance, service improvement or research activities.
