Quality Engineer – Supplier Quality

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Quality Engineer – Supplier Quality to work at its Adelaide site. The role combines hands‑on quality engineering with supplier engagement, data‑driven problem solving and continuous improvement across a global scientific technology organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Build strong supplier partnerships and improve quality, capability and performance.
• Lead supplier qualification, onboarding, audits and ongoing performance management.
• Investigate supplier and product quality issues, develop root‑cause analyses and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement and Operations to solve technical challenges and prevent recurrence.
• Use supplier and quality data to identify trends, emerging risks and improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing quality or related technical quality roles.
• Proven ability to investigate technical issues and drive corrective actions.
• Experience working with suppliers and cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• FMEA, 8D, root‑cause analysis and other quality tools.
• Supplier auditing and CAPA processes.
• Data analysis to identify trends and assess risk.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication and coating processes (advantageous).
