Quality Engineer – Electrical

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking experienced Quality Engineers to support the Central‑West Orana Renewable Energy Zone transmission project. The role is based in the Sydney CBD project office with occasional site visits and later a roster‑based on‑site arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Review client specifications and develop Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Inspection Test Criteria (ITCs) that meet client requirements.
• Ensure ITPs/ITCs are executed to high quality across all projects and report quality issues to the project team or client.
• Open, monitor, and close work lots systematically; formulate detailed NCRs to enable rapid response and closure.
• Liaise with the client’s quality department, attend weekly QA coordination meetings, and supervise detailed product assessments at various production stages.
• Develop, implement, and monitor the Project Quality Management Plan, conduct off‑site manufacturing audits, and maintain the project’s quality audit schedule.
• Investigate root causes, implement corrective actions, and support project teams in applying quality standards daily.
• Oversee fabrication processes by the company and subcontractors to ensure compliance with client specifications.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 + years experience in multidisciplinary infrastructure, renewable energy, or substation projects.
• Experience as a quality auditor with knowledge of ISO 9000 quality management systems.
• Ability to analyse statistical data to identify quality problems and provide training on best practices.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO 9000 and AS/NSZ ISO 9001:2008 quality management standards.
• Proficiency in reviewing statistical data for quality issue detection.
• Experience with quality inspection tools and software, including defect/snaging tracking tools.
