Quality Assurance Advisor – Shipbuilding

About the role
The Quality Assurance Advisor supports Austal Defence Australia’s shipbuilding programmes by ensuring that products, services and processes meet rigorous quality standards. Working within the Quality team, you will collaborate with project and operational stakeholders to drive compliance and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and conduct quality audits and process surveillance across operational and project environments.
- Review business processes, products and services for compliance with quality requirements.
- Investigate non‑conformances, support corrective and preventive actions, and document outcomes.
- Perform Quality Management System (QMS) audits according to established schedules.
- Analyse quality records, documentation and procedures to identify improvement opportunities.
- Maintain and enhance the QMS, including reporting, registers and performance metrics.
Required profile
- Experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control or Quality Management Systems within manufacturing, engineering, defence or shipbuilding.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and reporting abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance.
