Purchasing Officer – Procurement & Supply

About the role

Downer is seeking a Purchasing Officer to join its high‑performing procurement team in Maryborough, Queensland. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will manage procurement activities across the QLD business, ensuring timely purchasing aligned with project milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate purchasing on time and in line with project milestones and stakeholder requirements.
• Liaise with associated teams and management to engage stakeholders.
• Maintain governance of supply systems, ensuring purchases are executed through approved suppliers and supplier attributes are kept up‑to‑date.
• Review and evaluate technical work related to procurement.

Required profile

• 2 to 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or buying, preferably on major construction projects.
• Qualifications in procurement, supply chain, logistics or administration are highly desirable.
• Commercially astute with strong influencing and negotiation abilities.
