About the role
We are looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented Purchasing Officer to join Schramm Powered By Epiroc. In this position you will ensure the timely, cost‑effective supply of materials and services that support production, aftermarket operations and inventory management.
Key responsibilities
- Raise and manage purchase orders in the ERP system in line with demand and procurement policies.
- Monitor orders through to delivery, handling delays, back‑orders and changes.
- Liaise with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability and lead times.
- Support supplier negotiations within delegated authority and assist with onboarding new suppliers.
- Identify and evaluate new suppliers to improve cost, quality and supply continuity.
- Conduct sourcing activities such as RFQs, supplier comparisons and recommendations.
- Collaborate with production, planning and engineering teams to guarantee material availability.
- Coordinate logistics and freight, resolving delivery issues as needed.
- Maintain accurate purchasing data and contribute to reporting on orders, supplier performance and spend.
- Participate in continuous‑improvement and category‑management initiatives.
Required profile
- Certificate or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of purchase order management, supplier coordination and lead times.
- Effective communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
- High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
Required skills
- Proficiency with ERP systems for purchase order processing and data maintenance.
