Public Affairs & Sustainability Manager – Australia & Pacific

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability Manager to lead our efforts across Australia, the Pacific Islands and Papua New Guinea. Based in North Sydney, you will work closely with the South cluster PACS team to shape strategic communications, enhance corporate reputation and drive sustainability initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Work as part of the South cluster public affairs, communications and sustainability team.
• Develop and implement a strategic communications strategy for Australia, the Pacific Islands and PNG.
• Enhance corporate reputation through stakeholder and media engagements, community affairs and sustainability activities.
• Create local content for internal and external audiences aligned with corporate and brand communication strategies.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise and coaching to local company representatives, supporting them as effective spokespeople.
• Activate brand communications campaigns in partnership with Marketing teams.
• Support the PACS Senior Director on public affairs and sustainability programs in the Pacific Islands and PNG.
• Track and monitor media and social trends and assess the impact of communication strategies in the regions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in communications and/or public affairs.
• Proven ability to navigate matrix organisations and collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing national and regional communication strategies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues.
• Resilient and adaptable in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
