Projects Electrical Engineer – FIFO (8 days on / 6 days off)

About the role

The Projects Electrical Engineer will lead the delivery of electrical infrastructure for capital and sustaining projects at the Granny Smith Gold Mine. Working on an 8‑day on/6‑day off FIFO roster from Perth, you will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient electrical installations that support Gold Fields’ operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical projects from concept through design, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Provide technical oversight to ensure designs and installations meet Australian Standards, site requirements and Gold Fields HSEC standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants and vendors to achieve high‑quality outcomes.
• Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement and resource coordination.
• Champion safety by enforcing statutory obligations and risk‑management processes.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience delivering electrical projects in mining, heavy‑industrial or mineral‑processing environments.
• Knowledge of Western Australian mining legislation, engineering standards and safety management systems.
• Post‑graduate or Project Management qualifications and WA Statutory Supervisor Qualification (highly desirable).
• Current C Class driver’s licence.
