Project Manager - Geotechnical Infrastructure

About the role

A specialist civil contractor delivering ground engineering and stabilisation projects in Northern NSW and Far North Queensland is looking for an experienced Project Manager or a Senior Project Engineer to take over a major Joint Venture project with about seven to eight months remaining. The role reports directly to the Company Director and covers both operational delivery and commercial management, with the intention of continuing once the project is complete if future work is secured.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of a major Joint Venture geotechnical project from an operational and commercial perspective.
• Develop, maintain and submit accurate project programmes in Microsoft Project, meeting contractual milestones.
• Build relationships with Joint Venture partners, clients and key stakeholders.
• Coordinate resources to meet programme, safety, quality and commercial objectives.
• Monitor budgets, forecasting, costs and productivity.
• Prepare progress claims, reports and contractual documentation.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies; manage subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with contractual, safety, environmental and quality requirements and drive project handover.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience delivering civil infrastructure, geotechnical, stabilisation or earthworks projects.
• Ability to engage confidently with Joint Venture partners and client representatives.
• Leadership, communication and organisational skills, with a solutions-focused approach under pressure.

Required skills

• Planning and programming in Microsoft Project.
• Commercial acumen: cost management, forecasting and contractual obligations.
• Advanced Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project.
