About the role
The Project Manager joins Superloop's Fibre Infrastructure team to lead construction, relocation and maintenance projects on the Layer 1 fibre network across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. The role balances project delivery with day‑to‑day network operations, supporting customer provisioning, fault management and major incident response.
Key responsibilities
- Manage end‑to‑end fibre infrastructure projects, including scope, design coordination, budgeting, scheduling, risk management and delivery within CAPEX or recoverable budgets.
- Coordinate network relocation and recoverable works, obtain and assess contractor quotes, issue quotes to requesting parties and track cost recovery.
- Liaise with councils, road authorities, utilities, rail and property owners to secure permits, access and road occupancy approvals.
- Engage and manage contractors under Superloop's preferred model, ensuring safety, environmental and regulatory compliance.
- Provide regular project status reporting and stakeholder communication.
- Ensure as‑built documentation is captured in the GIS system for accurate network inventory.
- Support Fibre Operations with construction, service delivery, fault management and planned maintenance.
- Manage planned repair and maintenance activities, coordinating customers and contractors to minimise service disruption.
- Act as an escalation point for customer issues and participate in out‑of‑hours escalation roster.
Required profile
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in telecommunications or utilities infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, risks and stakeholder reporting.
- Hands‑on customer support experience at a service level.
- Strong verbal and written communication with a customer‑service focus.
- Self‑motivated, well‑organized and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to sites across QLD, NSW and VIC.
Required skills
- Project management methodologies and tools.
- Budgeting, scheduling and risk management.
- Contractor and supplier management, quote assessment and cost recovery.
- Knowledge of outside‑plant fibre construction, splicing and testing.
- Familiarity with standards such as AS/CA S009 and BYDA requirements.
- Experience with GIS or physical network inventory systems.
- Construction industry White Card and relevant safety training.
