Project Manager - Excavator Fleet, Mining

About the role

Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the operational performance of the excavator fleet at its customer site, Peak Downs Mine. Working a 5/2 roster and reporting to the Customer Support Manager, you will work closely with the customer to ensure effective management, maintenance and performance of the fleet, and will lead maintenance and warranty projects, manage stakeholder relationships and help deliver major mining projects.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute maintenance and warranty activities in line with project schedules and budgets
• Manage subcontractors and ensure compliance with safety standards, project specifications and budget requirements
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure all project activities meet Hitachi specifications and company standards
• Oversee site-based trades personnel and coordinate resources to maximise project efficiency
• Manage project administration, reporting and documentation
• Promote a strong safety culture and maintain high quality standards

Required profile

• Trade qualifications in Mobile Plant Technology, Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Electrician
• Demonstrated supervisory or project management experience
• Strong experience managing mobile equipment projects in the mining industry
• Commitment to safety leadership and quality assurance

Required skills

• Communication, negotiation and stakeholder management
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
• Time management and organisation
