Project Manager - Demolition & Decommissioning

About the role

McMahon Services, a national leader in construction, demolition, decommissioning, industrial and environmental services in Australia, is looking for a Project Manager to lead complex, high-profile demolition and decommissioning projects in Adelaide. Reporting to the General Manager - Demolition & Decommissioning, you will own the outcome from first plan to final handover, keeping program, procurement and contract administration on track while driving WHSEQ performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive demolition and decommissioning plans covering scope, schedules, budgets and safety requirements
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and industry regulations, preparing method statements, risk assessments, waste plans and emergency, traffic and WHSEQ plans
• Identify risks, implement mitigation strategies and oversee project WHSEQ performance
• Manage workforce, plant, materials and subcontractors in line with the program, working with Site Supervisors and Site Engineers on programming and resourcing
• Manage contract obligations, variations, procurement and commercial performance
• Build strong client and stakeholder relationships and report regularly on project performance, risks and issues

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
• Demonstrated project management experience, ideally in decommissioning, demolition, environmental remediation or complex civil projects, including multi-storey demolition and industrial work
• Strong understanding of WHSEQ requirements, risk mitigation and safety protocols
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Required skills

• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contract documents
• Competency in Microsoft Office and project management software
