Project Manager – Data Sensitivity (Hybrid, Newcastle)

About the role

The Project Manager – Data Sensitivity will lead a high‑impact initiative to implement compliant systems and processes for managing information assets. Working within a purpose‑driven Australian Federal Government corporation, you will deliver the programme from start to finish while collaborating with senior stakeholders across governance, technology and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of the Data Sensitivity initiative, including scoping, analysis and implementation of compliant information‑asset systems.
• Establish and maintain governance frameworks, policies and controls that support information management outcomes.
• Coordinate project delivery across technology, operations and governance teams, managing planning, risks, dependencies and reporting.
• Engage senior stakeholders to ensure alignment with organisational priorities and NAA recommendations.
• Oversee vendor management and procurement activities to maximise value from information assets.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering data, information governance, cyber‑security or technology projects in a public‑sector environment.
• Ability to apply both Agile and traditional project‑delivery methodologies as required.
• Strong capability in establishing governance frameworks, policies or controls for information management.
• Demonstrated skill in managing risks, issues and dependencies and driving timely decisions.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including interaction with senior leaders, technical teams and business functions.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in business, technology, project management or a related discipline; industry certifications are a plus.
