Project Manager - Data Centre

About the role

Turner & Townsend is looking for a Project Manager to lead Project Management Commissions for data centre projects. The role takes responsibility for end-to-end service delivery, ensuring client objectives are met and projects are delivered to time and cost targets and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Help establish the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters.
• Identify and ensure the appropriate line manager is aware of quality, safety, health and environment issues.
• Establish project governance, processes and systems, and produce the detailed project plan.
• Manage the change control process and advise on project finances.
• Manage the flow of information between the team and the client through regular meetings and written communication, and prepare formal progress reports.
• Enter key project information and lessons learned into the company's internal database.
• Ensure prompt client invoicing and use the FMS system to monitor the project's financial status.
• Improve internal systems and processes and refer ideas to the line manager.
• Interface with the client and other consultants at all project stages; SOX control responsibilities may apply.
• Comply with the company's Business Management Systems, including Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Management.

Required profile

• Design, management or construction experience in the general construction environment.
• Minimum of 2 to 5 years of project management experience, preferably in construction.
• Thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from conception to completion and post-project review.
• Experience leading and facilitating cross-functional teams on medium-sized, medium to high complexity construction projects.
• Business development experience, including working with existing and new clients and cross-selling.
• Experience in a client-focused environment and in the Australian market or on Australian projects.

Required skills

• Detailed working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of construction procurement routes, value management and value engineering.
