Project Manager – Commercial Construction

About the role

This Darwin‑based position leads the delivery of commercial construction projects from award through handover, ensuring safety, programme certainty, budget compliance and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project delivery in line with programme, budget and contract requirements.
• Oversee day‑to‑day site operations with the Site Manager to ensure safe, efficient, high‑quality execution.
• Monitor progress, manage sequencing, resolve constraints and maintain programme outcomes.
• Implement HSEQ systems, statutory compliance and manage procurement, subcontractor engagement and package letting.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and internal resources to achieve key milestones.
• Identify, manage and mitigate delivery, commercial, safety and quality risks.
• Provide regular reporting on programme, cost, safety and quality performance.

Required profile

• Diploma or Degree in Building & Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience delivering commercial construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, programming and subcontractor coordination.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, compliance obligations and safety legislation.
• Ability to lead project teams in a live construction environment and manage stakeholder relationships.

Required skills

• Proficiency with construction/project management software such as Hammertech, Procore, MS Project or Aconex.
• Strong organisational, planning and time‑management capabilities.
• Effective communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving skills.
